About Harper College

Harper College offers a wide range of educational opportunities designed to meet the diverse needs and goals of students and the community. Students attend Harper to earn associate degrees and certificates, prepare for transfer to four-year institutions, develop workforce and career skills, pursue professional development, complete developmental education coursework, and engage in continuing education and lifelong learning. Our Educational Programs and Services

In accordance with the Illinois Public Community College Act, Harper College provides, at minimum, the following educational programs and services:

Transfer degree programs

Programs designed to prepare students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, completing general education and major-specific coursework that aligns with bachelor’s degree pathways.

Career and technical education programs

Programs that provide students with job-ready skills, industry-recognized credentials, and hands-on training aligned with current workforce needs and employer demand.

Developmental education and academic support

Programs and services that strengthen foundational skills in areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics, helping students build readiness for college-level coursework and succeed academically.

Continuing and community education

Courses and learning opportunities designed for personal enrichment, lifelong learning, and skill development for individuals at all stages of life.

Workforce and customized training

Training programs developed in partnership with employers to meet specific workforce needs, providing targeted skill development, upskilling, and retraining opportunities for individuals and organizations.

Student support services

Comprehensive services including advising, tutoring, career guidance, and other resources designed to support student success, persistence, and goal attainment.
